Airspan and Sprint are proud to have won the “Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough” award in recognition of the successful and revolutionary large scale deployment of the first fully wireless small indoor cell, the Magic Box, designed specifically to improve the efficiency of the network, increase the speed of data transmission and improve the user experience.
“We are delighted that our innovative Magic Box has received recognition from the GSMA and the jury in such a competitive category, in which some of the largest companies in the world were present,” said Robert Kingsley, director of small cell development and Sprint WiFi. “The simplicity of its installation and the intelligence functions incorporated into the Magic Box improve day by day the experience of using our customers’ networks”.
“Our partnership with Sprint allows us to realize the long-promised capabilities of small cells. That is, improve the efficiency of the network and profitably expand coverage and capacity, “explained Eric Stonestrom, CEO of Airspan Networks.
“The Magic Box finally responds to the demand for a self-installing, high-performance, low-cost solution for network coverage issues.”
The award for the best advance in mobile technology highlights the contribution made by mobile operators, manufacturers and suppliers to increase the use of mobile devices, expand the user experience and help develop new business opportunities.
This wide category includes components, microprocessors, memories, chipsets, screens, audio, batteries, operating systems and application programming interfaces (API), to name a few, and even takes into account the innovation in design and shape and dimensions.
It recognizes the great diversity of the global mobile ecosystem, which continues to innovate and add new dimensions to the customer experience. It is a great honor for Sprint and Airspan to be among the winners of the GLOMO 2018 awards.
